How does the subscription work?
You can choose between a weekly or monthly subscription. Your credit card will automatically be charged either each week or month, depending on what you choose. Your box will then be shipped out automatically through December. Your subscription plan will stop in December as the apples are freshest through December.
How many apples are in a half bushel?
Our half bushel comes with 20 pounds of apples. The sizes vary slightly, so depending on what size is put into your box, you will receive between 36-44 apples per half bushel.
Will my apples look just like the pictures?
Every apple is unique and different based on many factors such as amounts of rain, sun, temperatures, growing days, etc. Most likely, your apples will not come looking just like the picture, but as your grower, packer, and shipper, we try our best to ensure that boxes and grades of apples are consistent each time.
Where are the apples grown and what makes them different from the apples I buy in the store?
Our apples are all grown right here on our 200 acre farm in the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater, Oregon. Apples purchased from your local grocery store have been most likely shipped to a "middle man" then sold to the store. It could be weeks or even months from the time they go from the farm to the grocery store shelves. When ordered directly from our farm, you will receive your apples within a few days of leaving the farm. Trust us, you will taste the difference!
What is The Rocks District and why does it grow better apples?
The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater is a particular parcel of land that is known for its unprecedented amount of rocks, a single soil series, and one land form. This land is receiving international acclaim for its wines, but the benefits of growing in The Rocks District extends to all produce. It is not known exactly how this cobbled soil creates such outstanding produce, but local farmers will tell you that since the roots have to work much harder to grow in these rocks, the outcome is a more flavorful fruit.
